Community Boils Over Govt Plans To Relocate Imo Polytechnic

Fear and uneasy calm is gradually brewing up among communities of Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Council of Imo State over the rumored state government arrangement to relocate some of the departments and schools in Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo in Ohaji/Egbema to other areas of Orlu, Ehime Mbano and Ikeduru particularly.
Since the news filtered into the ears of the landlords of the institution, various organizations, youths and groups have used engaged in peaceful protest to oppose the planned relocation of the institution.

Daily Trust learnt that government have planned to move school of engineering and environmental services to the Technological Skills Acquisition Centre (TSACS) at Orlu as part of the campus while school of business would be transferred to the Cooperative College, Nsu in Ehime Mbano LGA.

Also a site according to information has been provided at Ikeduru LGA and it is expected to house another school living the main campus at Umuagwo with only the school of Agriculture.
