The Nigerian Association of Social Workers, Ekiti State Chapter (NASOW) has sought partnership with the College of Health Sciences and Technology Ijero-Ekiti in establishing a department of Social Works in the College.
At a consolidatory meeting held with the Provost and other principal officers of the college today, National officer of the Association in charge of Southwest, Mr Afolabi Adegboyega maintained that having a department of Social Works in the College will help in advancing the course of the association, which include; supporting individuals and their families through difficult times, ensuring that vulnerable people are safeguarded from harm and acting as advocates.
Responding, the Provost, Dr (Mrs) Olajumoke Adebayo who assured of quality training for prospective students of the proposed department, added that the college will speed up work towards getting the required accreditation for social works department.
