College Directs Students to Go Home Following Boko Haram Threat:
The College of Education, Hong, in Adamawa, was shut on Friday and students directed to go home following alleged threat by members of the Boko Haram sect to attack the school.
The Provost of the college, Dr Johnson Pongri, who confirmed the closure in a news conference in Yola, said the move was based on the advice of the Military Task Force in the area.
Pongri said the school had been receiving threat letters by unknown persons who claimed to be members of the Boko Haram.
Students were seen hurrying out with their bags and scrambling for vehicles to get to motor parks for journeys to their homes.

In another development, Gov. Murtala Nyako of Adamawa had on Friday visited Michika and Shuwa towns to sympathise with victims of Wednesday attack by insurgents.
Addressing the victims in Shuwa, Nyako said the government would constitute a committee to ascertain the level of damage in the town with a view to assisting the people.
He urged the people to be security-conscious and cooperate with security agencies deployed to the area.
The District Head of Shuwa, Alhaji Mustapha Sanusi, thanked the governor for his concern and called for strengthening of security measures to avert a recurrence. (Vanguard)
