COEASU Threatens Hunger Strike, If FG Fails to Meet Demands:
Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union, COEASU, yesterday, threatened to embark on indefinite hunger strike, if the Federal Government failed to meet demands.
In a statement by the National President of COEASU, Mr. Emmanuel Asagha, in Abuja, the union accused the Federal Government of neglect, discrimination and insensitivity to their plights.
It would be recalled that COEASU had been on strike since December 18, 2013.
The statement read: “The union is thus, concluding plans to declare a hunger strike, organise mass protest in each state of the federation and finally march her members and other stakeholders from across the country to the nation’s headquarters to publicly decry this neglect and press home our demands. Government’s insensitivity and discrimination are condemnable.
