COEASU STRIKE: Lecturers To Meet On July 1st

COEASU strike Lecturers To Meet On July 1st to review 6 months old strike.

The Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) on Thursday said it would hold its National Executive Council meeting on July 1 to take final position on its six-month-old strike.

According to the COEASU chairman, Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka chapter, Lagos all the union chapter chairmen have been summoned to converge in Abuja for a meeting on Tuesday

The meeting will focus on reviewing and updating members on the level of discussion with the government toward ending the strike.

“After the meeting, we will take a decisive position on the strike," he said.

The meeting between the union and the representatives of the Federal Government earlier scheduled to hold on June 24 was postponed till next week.

“The union has held series of meeting with the government but could not reach a logical conclusion," he said.

The chairman urged the Federal Government to be more committed to meeting the demands of the union toward ending the strike.
