The Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) has granted final approval for Aminu Dabo College of Health Sciences and Technology (AD-COHST) to continue training of Community Health Extension Workers and Junior Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW & JCHEW) for four academic sessions.
This is contained in the correspondence attached with Accreditation Certificate signed by Mal Bashir Idris (Rchp, Aiphp) Registrar/CEO of the Board and addressed to the College Authority.
In the letter, the Registrar stated that the approval was granted following the recent Board Accreditation exercise where the Team found the College met the requirements with appreciative overall performance by the Institution.
The Registrar congratulated the Proprietor and the entire Management of the College for achieving the successes, expressing hope that the set quality and standard will be maintained at all times.
Reacting to the development, the Proprietor of the College Arc Aminu Dabo expressed appreciation to the Board for considering the College as a worthy Private Health institution to run Community Health programs.
It could be recalled, on December 19, 2022, the College hosted Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) Accreditation team for the conduct and appraisal of its CHEW Programmes.
The 5-member team was received by Mal Lawaddeen Muqaddas Registrar of the College in company of head of Community Health Department Hajiya Maryam lsah along with academic and non-academic staff.
Welcoming the team on behalf of the Proprietor, staff and students of the College, Mal Lawaddeen Muqaddass expressed the readiness of the College in order to ensure a smooth and successful exercise.
Mal Lawaddeen Muqaddas thanked the Board for accepting the request to visit the College to re-examine its CHEW Programs for continuity training in the institution, reaffirming the commitment of the College towards ensuring and sustainable standard requirements for the quality training of students.
Earlier, the leader of the visitation team, Mr Teniola Frederik, said the two-day visit was to ascertain the readiness of the College for final accreditation, assuring fair and just exercise and called for full cooperation of all to ensure success of the exercise with a view to getting a first-hand view of improved facilities and equipment for the training of Community Health programs.
During the exercise, the team gained deeper insight into the college academic activities, inspected physical Infrastructural facilities on ground and manpower strength, as well as other conveniences and clinical sites.
The team also got a tour of state-of-the-art laboratories, classrooms and other excellent facilities such as the Library, Audio-Visual Room, Computer Room with internet services as well as students Hostel.
