Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Branch Controller urged students to cultivate the habit of saving  meagre amount out of their little income.

Students and youths across the country have been charged to cultivate the habit of saving from their little income in preparation for future financial challenges.

Osun State Branch Controller of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Macdoff Efettabore, who gave the advice in Osogbo at the celebration of “2014 World savings Day” tagged “CBN School Mentoring programme,” urged students to learn how to discipline themselves and save out of the meagre amount at their disposal.

The forum, which was organised by the apex bank to educate students for future financial challenges, contended that if, at early stage of life, youths cultivate the habit of saving, it will not be difficult for them to save at least 10% of their income when they grow up and secure jobs.

The financial expert further advised the students and youths to read motivational books that would lead them to know how to invest their money on profitable ventures.

Guest seaker and head, Consumer Protection Department of CBN, Mr. Demola Atanda, encouraged students and youths to develop the habit of opening accounts with commercial banks for the security of their money as well as plan for their future. (Leadership)
