Caleb University, Imota Lagos State has received approval for National Universities Commission (NUC) to run a full-time LLB Law programme. This was contained in a letter dated February 10, 2021, and signed on behalf of the NUC Executive Secretary, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, by Dr. N.B. Saliu, who is the Director of Academic Planning of the accreditation agency.
According to the letter released by the university’s Proprietor, Dr. Ola Adebogun, on Monday, the NUC stated that the programme should be run at the Magodo Campus of the institution with effect from the 2020/2021 academic session.
The NUC, however, added that the Law programme should not be run on a part-time basis, stating that, “the programme shall bear only the approved titles and nomenclature and that any change will require the approval of the commission.”
Reacting to the development, Adebogun noted that the huge infrastructural development and quality of lecturers at the College of Law won the university the NUC’s approval.
The Vice-Chancellor of the varsity, Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, said, “The approval is a continuation of the harvest of good news in Caleb University, and we remain grateful to the National Universities Commission for its support”.
