We wish to notify all new and returning students of Bayero University Kano (BUK KANO) that the university’s administration has made adjustments to the academic calendar for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The revised BUK KANO academic calendar is designed to span approximately one year. All academic and non-academic activities have been meticulously scheduled within the approved timeframe, as directed by the university’s management.

BUK KANO 2023/2024 Second Semester in Detail
Registration for Fresh and Returning Students:
Commencing on Monday, 10th July and running through to 10th August 2023, both fresh and returning students will be provided with ample time to register for the academic session.
First Semester: A Mix of Academics and Breaks
First Semester Lectures will kick-off on Monday, 24th July, spanning over 13 weeks until 28th October 2023. A week-long mid-semester break, starting from Monday, 11th to 17th September 2023, will serve as a period for rest and recuperation. The First Semester Examinations will then follow from Monday, 30th October until 25th November 2023.
To close out the semester, students will have a week-long break from Monday, 27th November to 3rd December 2023, offering them a chance to relax and prepare for the second semester
BUK DETAILD ACTIVITIES FOR SECOND SEMESTER
The Second Semester Lectures will commence on Monday, 4th December 2023 and will run through to 2nd March 2024, also spanning 13 weeks. A mid-semester break will occur from Monday, 15th to 21st January 2024, breaking up the academic rigors.
Consequently, the Second Semester Examinations will kick-off on Monday, 4th March and conclude on 30th March 2024.
The end of session is slated for Saturday, 18th May 2024, concluding the academic calendar for the 2023/2024 session.
