British Council Commences Teachers Training Programme in Nigeria:
The British Council in Nigeria says it has commenced a 10-day training programme tagged ‘Connecting Classrooms Project’ for teachers in the country.
This is contained in a statement signed by the council’s Communications Manager, Mr Desmond Emovie and made available to newsmen in Lagos.
According to the statement, the project offers a range of professional development learning opportunities for teachers through free face-to-face workshops nationwide.

It said that the project would expose the teachers to courses on introduction to the principles of education as well as benefits and practicalities of international learning.
The statement said that teachers would also be given exposure on how global citizenship and international collaboration could enhance learning.
According to the statement, the project will equip teachers on how to prepare for effective international learning.
It said that the introduction to Schools Online/Getting Started with ICT was a course designed to complement its Introduction to International Learning course.
The statement noted that the course was designed to take new schools in Nigeria through the British Council’s Schools online platform for professional development and school partnerships.
It said that the ICT based training was designed to guide participants through the ICT skills required for international projects.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the training, which opened on Tuesday, will end on Thursday.(NAN)
