Borno govt enrols 1,163 IDP children in school

In its efforts to ensure that all school-age children were in school, the Special Adviser to the Borno state governor, on Communications and Strategy, Isa Gusau, revealed that about 1,163 children of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) have been enrolled into schools in Mobbar Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno state.

The enrollment exercise which took place in Damasak, headquarters of Mobbar LGA, was supervised by the state governor, Babagana Zulum during a three-day humanitarian visit to the area.

According to Gusau, the pupils are indigenes of Guzamala and Abadam LGAs in northern Borno and had been out of school since their parents were displaced by Boko Haram fighters.

The governor further appealed to parents in the state to ensure their wards are enrolled in functional schools provided by the government.
