BIU Produces 49 First Class Honours As 902 Students Graduate

A total of 902 students of Benson Idahosa University were recently at the 12th convocation ceremony of the Institution awarded first degree and higher degrees.

In the first degree category, 49 students graduated with first Class Honours.

Ogbeide Esther Omonigho and Idehen Joshua Osahon both of the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences emerged as overall best graduating students with C.G.P.As of 4.94 respectively.

The climax of the event was the award of the institution's first ever Ph.D. in Economics to Dr. Aisien, Nosa Leonard.

In his speech, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ernest B. Izevbigie stressed on the developmental growth of the institution so far. He mentioned that Benson Idahosa University will be the first institution to commence studies in renewable energy solution in the country.

On her part, the Chancellor and presiding Archbishop of the Church of God Mission International, Dr. M.E. Benson Idahosa urged the graduating students to manifest the legacy of its founder Archbishop B.A.Idahosa, and all that the institution has deposited in them, impact their world and be models and trail blazers, adding that as future leaders, they are the extension of Christ on earth.
