The Pro-chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Chief Ogunseye Ogunlewe, has charged Nigerian students to be more practically oriented.
Ogunlewe, a former minister of works made the call while inspecting new facilities and ongoing projects in the university.
Ogunlewe notes, “By engaging in direct labour exercise, students gain practical experiences and augment their finances for self reliance.”
Among some of the projects he inspected were the Information and Communication Technology building, a 2,500-seater auditorium and the Centre for Entrepreneurship building.
In a remark, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Oyewole, notes that the construction of the buildings was, “to coordinate ICT in the campus and to provide 24-hour access to students in the cybercafés.”
