Bauchi Students Missed 2020 WAEC over Fraudulent Acts by Principals - Commissioner

The Bauchi State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Aliyu Tilde, has reacted to the omission of over 200 WAEC candidates in the ongoing 2020 examination. He blamed the omission on school principals who fraudulently removed and substituted the names with ineligible candidates writing this year’s West African Examination Council (WAEC).

In a statement issued to journalists, on Sunday 30, August, Tilde said some of the victims also committed errors at the point of registration that cut across biometric and misspelling.

He also added that they were about other 400 applicants, who either did not turn up for the online registration or had technical issues, which some of the vendors who did the registration did not care to crosscheck because they were heavily underpaid by the contractor.
