A lawmaker representing Kirfi constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abdulkadir Umar Dewu, has awarded scholarships to over 400 students of his constituency currently schooling at various higher institutions across the country.
The scholarships distribution exercise was flagged off by the speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Abubakar Y Sulaiman on Monday, July 12 at the conference hall of Mallam Ibrahim Na Hauwa at Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi.
According to Umar Dewu, the scholarship was part his of efforts to support the education of all the youths in his constituency who had applied for the program, adding that N5m was earmarked for the first phase of the exercise to the students after certain criteria have been met.
The beneficiary students include those studying for doctorate degrees, masters, first degrees, and other certificates.
