A female student of Babcock University, Busayo Ogunkoya, was recently shot dead by a security guard during a birthday party in a hotel in Ikorodu area of Lagos state.
According to report the 22-year old Busayo was invited to the birthday party by her boyfriend. They were celebrating with friends when a guard who was said to be drunk fired a shot that hit her in the neck region.
She was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.
The police on receiving the report arrived the scene and arrested the Security guard, the assistant Manger of the hotel and Busayo’s boyfriend.
The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Lelma Kolle, confirmed the incident and said that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, for investigation.
