He was born In abere Street in Lagos Island where he grew up but he originates from Ikorodu government area of Lagos State, southwestern Nigeria. He had his primary education at Jamaitul Islamial grade school in Lagos and kids private school , Osogbo before he proceeded to Adekanbi Commercial highschool in Mile 12, Lagos state but secured the West African School Certificate (WASCE) from Ifeoluwa Grammar School in Osogbo, Osun State,southwestern Nigeria.

He began acting in 1971 but came into limelight after he featured during a movie titled, Omolasan, a movie produced by Obalende. He became really famous when he starred in Iru Esin, produced by Olaiya Igwe in 1997. He had featured and produced several Nigerian movies like Baba Jaiye jaiye, a movie that featured Funke Akindele and Femi Adebayo, the son of the veteran actor Adebayo Salami.
In 2011, he was accused of cocaine trafficking by the National Drug enforcement Agency, an allegation that was described as false and defamatory by the ruling of the Lagos supreme court of law. His solicitor was the late Bamidele Aturu, a Nigerian lawyer and right activist.

Baba Suwe’s Death
Popular Yoruba artiste, Bolaji Amusan, otherwise referred to as Latin, has announced the death of his colleague, Baba Suwe. He said he got the confirmation after speaking with Baba Suwe’s son over the phone. News about the cause of his death is still sketchy but news reaching us have it that he must’ve died from complications as a result of his diabetes though not confirmed yet.
Rumours has that Baba Suwe have been trending on social media of the purported death of Barumoursba Suwe, whose real name is Babatunde Omidina.
Latin said during a video he posted on Instagram that the report that he is truly dead.

“Baba Suwe is presently in America for treatment. he’s hale, alive and healthy. I many thanks all for your concern,” he said.
Omidina has flown out of the country a couple of weeks ago over an undisclosed illness.
In an interview with The Newspaper company punch in 2018, he had said, “I am diabetic. As a results of that, my blood glucose level usually fluctuates but things are normal now. There was a time once I couldn’t even talk. Very soon though, everybody will see me during a nother dimension in a movie.”
Unfortunately, he has given up the ghost. May his soul rest in peace.
