Augustine University gets full NUC accreditation for 13 academic programmes

In a significant milestone, Augustine University has been granted full accreditation for 13 of its academic programmes by the National Universities Commission (NUC). 

The announcement came via a letter dated 6th June 2024, following the NUC’s accreditation visit to the University in October and November 2023.

The programmes that received full accreditation include Accounting, English, Philosophy, Mass Communication, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Biotechnology, Mathematics, Microbiology, and Economics. 

Additionally, the University received interim accreditation for its Political Science Programme.

In his remark, the Vice-Chancellor of Augustine University, Professor Christopher Odetunde expressed his elation at the news, stating that the full accreditation signifies that Augustine University meets the national standards for higher education and is poised to offer its students a robust and comprehensive academic experience.

The NUC accreditation team visited the University between October and November 2023 to assess the quality and content of 13 of the 23 undergraduate programmes offered by the Institution which informed the university’s current accreditation status.
