The American University in Cairo (AUC) provides five full/partial opportunities to Thanaweya Amma graduates from five governorates in Upper Egypt: Assiut, Beni Suef, Minya, Sohag, and Fayoum. Selected students benefit from AUC’s liberal arts education, diverse majors, and extensive student-life services.

Requirements for Empower Scholarship Qualification

• Egyptian nationality
• High school Thanaweya Amma graduates in the academic year 2021-2022 from public or private schools from the following governorates: Assiut, Beni Suef, Minya, Sohag, and Fayoum
• Have an outstanding secondary school academic record
• Meet AUC's admission requirements
• Demonstrated financial need
• Leadership potential and active participation in community service and school activities
• Recent official valid IELTS test results, with a minimum score of 5.5 in both writing and total score or TOEFL iBT test results with a minimum of 62 as a total score and a minimum of 17 in writing
