The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has said it will not be suspending the ongoing one-month warning strike it had declared on February 14 until the government honors its agreement.
ASUU President, Emmanuel Osodeke, who appeared on Channels TV today, February 28, said the union will not be backing down as the Federal government has consistently failed to keep up to all promises given to the union over the years.
Osodeke explained that the union has come to understand that whenever it calls off a strike, the government relapses on its promises and that they are tired of the fake promises and want the government to act.
The union will be meeting with the Federal government on Tuesday, March 1st, as negotiations continue.
