As the strike embarked by the Academic Staff Union of polytechnics(ASUP) continues, information reaching us says that the lecturers at the YABATECH College of Technology will be going on a protest on April 8.
This according to the chairman of ASUP YABATECH chapter Adeyemi Aromolaran is to point at what he described as the lukewarm attitude of the federal government to the association’s demands.
According to him the ‘no work, no pay’ threat of the government will not make them call off the six-month strike until their demands are met them.
‘’ We have been able to eliminate the fear from the mind of the few members, and we will continue with the strike until our demands are met.
''The threat will not yield any result for the government, as we are determined to fight the battle to finish.’’ he added.
He called on the government to stop playing with the future of the students. Saying for the strike to continue will signify insensitivity on the part of the government.
