The School of Undergraduate Studies at the Aminu Saleh College of Education (ASCOE), Azare, affiliated to the University of Maiduguri, has released the schedule for its 14th Matriculation and Orientation ceremony. This ceremony is for new students admitted into the Degree 100 and 200 Level programmes for the 2022/2023 academic session.
Key Event Dates and Schedule
1. Distribution of Academic Gown
The distribution of academic gowns for the matriculation will occur on Wednesday, 19th July, 2023 at the School of Undergraduate Studies. The distribution will take place from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
2. Orientation Lecture
The Orientation Lecture is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 20th July, 2023, at the Chris Abutu Garuba Hall. The lecture will run from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
3. Rehearsal
The rehearsal for the Matriculation Ceremony is also slated for Thursday, 20th July, 2023, at the Chris Abutu Garuba Hall. The rehearsal will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

The main Matriculation Ceremony will be held on Friday, 21st July, 2023, at the Chris Abutu Garuba Hall. The ceremony will commence at 9:00 am prompt.
5. Cultural Dances
A cultural dance event will also take place on Friday, 21st July, 2023, at the Chris Abutu Garuba Hall. This event will begin at 4:00 pm.
Matriculation: A Compulsory Exercise
All students should note that the matriculation is compulsory. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Registrar and Director of Affiliated Colleges of the University of Maiduguri will be present at the College to matriculate the new students.
Students are expected to sign the Matriculation Oath Form as well as the Matriculation Register, which the Registrar will take back to the University of Maiduguri. Any student who fails to sign the Matriculation Register is not considered a student of the University of Maiduguri and may be advised to withdraw.
A Note on Semester Registration
It’s crucial to note that the Matriculation exercise is not part of the Second Semester Registration. All those who registered with the College during the First Semester are urged to attend this exercise to avoid possible consequences.
