A final year student of the University of Benin was killed by armed men on Thursday, March 3, at her residence in Osasogie, Benin, Edo State. The deceased identified as Susan Oboh, a final-year pharmacy student was reportedly shot by a bullet fired by the armed robbers while she was seeing off a visitor.
According to reports, a man and his girlfriend went out to buy water when they overheard some men saying “e be like say we go soon start to rob for this Osasogie''. This prompted them to take to their heels fearing for their lives. However, the robbers were said to have trailed them to their compound and asked that they released their phones and the keys to the man's car.
The robbers reportedly accosted Susan who was seeing off her visitor and was unaware that a robbery was ongoing and shot her. They were said to have fled the scene of the incident after shooting her with one of the robbers screaming that his colleague shouldn’t have shot her.
Susan was rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital(UBTH) and bled profusely. She eventually gave up the ghost on Saturday, March 5.
