A set of corp members in Ekureku Abi local government area of Cross Rivers State were on Thursday, February 9, shocked to return home to a ransacked and empty lodge after going for their Community Development Service (CDS).
The lodge, according to the corpers were attacked and burgled.
The Corp members returned, only to see their rooms turned upside and ransacked by the hoodlums who took their time to carefully search the rooms.
According to an occupant of the lodge, the robbers came in when occupants of the building have gone for their CDS and broke into the rooms, carting away all the valuables, including phones, money, laptops and even clothings.
A male corps member who was worst hit by the attack decried how the insecurity in the lodge. He lamented that his laptop, the sum of N20,000, clothings including jeans, shirts, and other personal belongings were stolen.
He lamented that they also went away with his original school certificate which was in the bag which the burglars carted away.
