Anchor university produces 23 first-class graduands in its maiden convocation ceremony

The Vice-Chancellor, of Anchor University, Lagos (AUL) Joseph Afolayan, has announced that the university will be graduating 63 students of the institution, today, July 9, in its maiden convocation ceremony, out of which 23 made a first-class.

Afolayan said the 63 graduates are from the Faculty of Humanities (nine), Social and Management Sciences (27) and Science and Science Education produced 27.

19-year-old Mary Enakireru emerged as the overall best graduating student from the Faculty of Science and Science Education with a CGPA of 3.95. Also, 27 had Second Class Upper while 13 students, graduated with Second Class Lower degrees.

The vice-chancellor maintained that AUL First Class graduates can defend their grades/degrees because the university does not award marks to students who do not merit them.

He said the maiden convocation lecture will be delivered by former executive secretary, National Universities Commission, Peter Okebukola.
