Aminu Saleh COE appoints new Registrar

Abdullahi Babbaji was born on 3rd January, 1966 at Azare, Katagum LGA of Bauchi State. Typical to all Muslim children, he received his early Islamic education at Azare. He got enrolled into the then Nasarawa East Primary School (now Ahmadu Turaki Primary School), Azare in 1974 and obtained the First School Leaving Certificate in 1979. He proceeded to Government Comprehensive Day Secondary School, Azare where he obtained the West African School Certificate in 1988. 

He also had a brief stint at Government Secondary School, Itas. Abdullahi Babbaji also attended Adult and Non-Formal Education Institute, Bauchi and Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi between 1990–1997 respectively. 

In his quest for further knowledge, Babbaji also joined the Undergraduate studies of Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare (Affiliated to University of Maiduguri) where he bagged Bachelor of Arts Education (English) in 2012. Abdullahi Babbaji obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration and Policy from the Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare (affiliated to University of Maiduguri) in 2018. Mal. Abdullahi Babbaji added another feather to his cap by acquiring Masters Degree in Public Policy and Administration from Federal University Dutse in 2022.

He joined the services of the then College of Education, Azare (now Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare) in 1992 as a Senior Clerical Officer. He rose through the ranks of the Registry Cadre to Deputy Registrar (Undergraduate Studies) in 2018. He was later posted as Deputy Registrar (Admission and Registration in the year 2020. 

Mal. Abdullahi held various responsibilities on ad hoc and permanent basis within the Registry of the College. Mal. Abdullahi is synonymous with admission and registration of students. His name has been ringing bell across the length and breadth of Nigeria on admission matters. He has eagle eyes that easily detect counterfeit/forged certificates and statement of results. 

He is so much endeared to his work to the extent that there are no weekends nor holidays that could stop him from coming to office. He also closes very late in the afternoon due to the busy nature of his office. He has very unique, intelligent and fast thinking personality that puts him very much ahead of others in handling complicated situations of admission and registration.

Abdullahi Babbaji is an embodiment of excellence, a bridge builder, peace ambassador, a staunch unionist (having served as Chairman SSUCOEN, ASCOE, Azare Chapter as well as a stronger pillar in JAC), freedom fighter and advocate for social justice and above all, a man of proven integrity. 

Abdullahi Babbaji is a distinguished personality and a silent achiever who won no less than eight different merit awards. He was the best Senior Non-Academic Staff of the Year in 2014. The history of Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare would never be complete without mentioning the positive contributions of this gentleman of impeccable records.

Abdullahi Babbaji has attended numerous workshops and conferences within and outside the College and is also a registered member of several professional bodies in Nigeria.Abdullahi Babbaji is happily married with children.
