AMAC approves N26.9m scholarship for tertiary students

The chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Mr. Abdullahi Candido, has announced that the council has approved the disbursement of N26.9 million scholarship for tertiary institution students in the council.

He made the disclosure at the 2021 retreat for journalists in Keffi, Nasarawa State, on Thursday 18 March 2021. According to Candido, the scholarship would be given to both indigenes and non-indigenes of the council, adding that the disbursement would commence in May.

Candido further revealed that the council in 2020, secured admission for no fewer than 50 students to study science-related courses at the University of Abuja.

The guest speaker at the occasion, Associate Prof. Sheriff Ibrahim commended the chairman for the gestures and advised the chairman to concentrate more on education, employment, and job creation for youths.
