The management of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Ikot Ekpene has announced to the general public especially newly admitted students that the Matriculation Ceremony for freshers who recently got admitted into Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Ikot Ekpene for the 2024/2025 academic session has been rescheduled to hold on the Friday, 22nd March 2024.
Every student participating in the Matriculation exercise students is mandated to be present at the venue for procession according to their respective Faculties by 8:am at the venue.
Please note that this matriculation ceremony is compulsory for all newly admitted students that gained admission into Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Ikot Ekpene either via UTME or Direct Entry method as attendance will be taken because you will be required to sign the Matriculation Register immediately after the event is over.

Eligibility for Participation
Participation in the matriculation ceremony is exclusive to students who have fulfilled the essential prerequisites, which include:
- Payment of all prescribed fees.
- Registration in their respective departments.
Collection of Academic Gowns
In preparation for the ceremony, academic gowns will be available for collection under the following arrangements:
- Collection Period:From Friday, 15th March to Wednesday, 20th March 2024
- Location:Academic gowns are to be collected from the Central Stores.
Heads of Departments are entrusted with the responsibility of distributing these gowns to the matriculating students. It is important to note that the cost of the gowns has already been included in the students’ fees, ensuring that there are no additional expenses for the participants.
Post-Ceremony Formalities
Following the matriculation ceremony, all matriculants are required to:
- Sign the Matriculation Register:This is to be done at the Office of their Deans of Schools, confirming their formal acceptance into the polytechnic’s academic programmes.
