Before applying for AKSU’s Postgraduate form screening form you must meet the following requirements and eligibility criteria as listed below;
- Complete O’level results
- First Degree Certificate (B.Sc, M.A B.Edu, B.Engr or any HND certificate)
- NYSC Discharge Certificate

Candidates applying for a PG programme at AKSU must meet the following basic admission requirements amongst others.
- Must have 5 O’Level credits including mathematics and English language and 3 other subjects relevant to their course of study.
NYSC Discharge Certificate
To apply for a post graduate programme in AKSU, an NYSC discharge certificate is a must have, for those without one, a certificate of exemption from your institution is acceptable by AKSU. Candidates or applicants awaiting the completion of their NYSC programmes are not eligible to apply as they would not be considered for admission.
First Degree
For candidates from universities you must have possessed a first degree with a minimum of second class upper and above to apply for a Masters degree programme in any course that is relevant to the course offered in your first degree.
Candidates or applicants with 3rd class and below or HND in any course must first go through PGD (postgraduate Diploma) programme and after successfully completing the PGD programme becomes eligible to apply for a Masters degree programme in Akwa Ibom State University.

How To Apply for AKSU Postgraduate Admission Form
To apply for AKSU postgraduate form, you need to first confirm the postgraduate courses and the admission requirements HERE before proceeding.
To apply for AKSU postgraduate application form, you are required to follow the application procedures outlined below;
NOTE: AKSU postgraduate application forms can be accessed online upon payment of N20,000.00 (Twenty thousand Naira) only.
STEP 1: All eligible applicants are to go to http://www.aksu.edu.ng/pg/portal and click on the “Apply” button
STEP 2: Select the Postgraduate Programme Link to choose the category of postgraduate programme you are applying for.
STEP 3: You will be required to pay for the form, click on PAYMENT: BANK PAYMENT
STEP 4: Select “Bank”
STEP 5: Enter your full name, a valid e-mail address and Phone Number and click on “PAY NOW”
STEP 6: Generate a payment analysis slip and proceed to any of the designated banks with the slip to make payment.
STEP 7: After making payment, you are to repeat steps 1-3
STEP 8: On the dashboard, Click “ALREADY PAID” and provide your payment “Reference Number”
STEP 9: Click “VERIFY AND CONTINUE” to complete the registration.
STEP 10: You are to complete the Online registration form by providing the required information.
STEP 11: Ensure that you have scanned and uploaded the following documents:
- SSCE or its equivalent
- Degree/HND/OND
- PGD/PGDE( For M.Sc. applicants only)
- Sc./M.A/M.Ed./MBA/ ( For Ph.D applicants only)
- NYSC (discharge/exemption/exclusion)
- Birth Certificate
- Certificate Of Origin
STEP 12: Click the SUBMIT button after filling the form.
STEP 13: PRINT the Registration Confirmation slip as proof of registration.

- Akwa Ibom State University does not admit candidates for Academic Masters programme on Part Time mode.

Title, Aim/Objectives, Relevance of Study, Methodology, Expected Results among others.
- Candidates should remember to request, at the time of purchase of the forms, that their relevant academic transcript should be forwarded to; The Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, Akwa Ibom State University, P.M.B. 1167, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
In addition, completed reference forms should be forwarded to the email address which is stated in the admission form. Admission will not be offered without transcript and completed reference forms.
