With reference to a Notice with reference Number REF JAMB/ADMS/UNI/60. VOL. 1 earlier released from the Office of the National Directorate of Education and reads as follows;

"RUNNING OF FOUNDATION AND DIPLOMA COURSES
1. The Board has observed with dismay that some Universities still run Foundation and Diploma Programmes, despite the fact that the Federal Ministry of Education, through the National Council on Education has outlawed it some years ago.

2. It is further observed that candidates use such Diploma Certificates to seek for admission into Degree Programmes through DIRECT ENTRY applications.

3. The Board wishes to reiterate that such qualifications (University Diplomas) are NOT ACCEPTABLE for admissions into Nigerian Universities through Direct Entry applications.

Please accept the assurances of the Registrar/Chief Executive of the Board that the above directive will continually be duly enforced.
Thank You
Signed
Sulaman Y. Muhammad
Director (Admissions)
