Ajayi Crowther University, in Oyo State has appointed Former president, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) as the schools new Pro-Chancellor.
In a letter signed by the Secretary, Supra Diocesan Board West, the Rt. Reverend Humphrey B. Olumakaiye named the legal luminary as the new pro-chancellor and Olanipekun’s appointment was as a result of his invaluable contributions to Nigeria’s education sector and enviable record as a man of integrity and excellence”.
In his acceptance letter, Olanipekun thanked the university for the honour given to him by the appointment and pledged to put in his best to take the institution to higher heights of academic excellence.
Olanipekun also commended the calibre of men and women in the governing council, stressing that it is an assemblage of personalities of high repute who have distinguished themselves in their different callings.
Members of the Governing Council are: Mr. Toyin Okeowo, Prof. Mopelola Omoigun, Rt. Rev. Prof. M. A. Osunade, Chief M.A Aderiye.
Others are Most Rev. Dr. G. Lasebikan, Sir Prof. J.B.A Osemeikhan, Engineer Niyi Oguntoye, Prof. Mrs. Susan Ajibade, Rt. Rev. Prof. Dapo Asaju, Mr. M.O Abikoye and Hon. Justice B.O Oguntade who will be handling legal matters.
