AFIT gets full accreditation for 9 degree programmes

The National Universities Commission (NUC) recently approved the full Accreditation of Nine Academic Degree Programmes of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) Kaduna for a period of five years. The programmes include Aerospace Engineering, Accounting, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Cyber Security, Economics, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information and Communication Technology and Mechanical Engineering.

The accreditation exercise of Academic Degree programmes of the Institute took place from 1st to 6th of December 2021 as part of the National Universities Commission's requirements for quality assurance of all programmes offered by Nigerian tertiary institution. The above nine department were visited by three different NUC teams and examined the available facilitates in line with NUC Benchmark Minimum Academic Standards (BMAS) for Undergraduate Programmes in Nigerian Universities.

The remaining thirteen academic programmes of the Institute have been scheduled for Accreditation in November 2022. These programmes are Metallurgical and Material Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering and Automotive Engineering from the Faculty of Air Engineering; Telecommunication Engineering from the Faculty of Ground and Communication .
