AE-FUNAI launches mobile app

Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State has launched a Mobile App, meant to provide quick, easy and unfettered access to her teaching and research activities, and community service at just a click.

With the ‘AE-FUNAI Mobile APP’ students can easily register their courses, apply for hostel accommodation, submit assignments, and check their examination results as well as access important information about the University anywhere, anytime and at any place  with their mobile devices without hassles.

The App which can be downloaded from the Google Playstore for users of android phones is expected to enhance communication and information dissemination among the staff and students of the University, and other stakeholders. For instance, some university publics like parents and admission candidates can easily utilize the App to access useful information and news about the University, and check their admission status. The robustness of the App is such that lecturers and students can also function on the University portal with more convenience.

The App was developed and donated to the University by the Acting Director, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Engr. Dr. Ngozi Eli-Chukwu.  In a memo she addressed to the Vice-Chancellor conveying her donation, she said: “Akin to the practice in the best of universities, things like course registration, course upload, result upload, submission of assignments, result checking, etc, can be effected from the comfort of their handsets, without affecting the unassailability of the University’s gatekeeping, data security, and quality assurance systems.”

Dr. Eli-Chukwu further noted: “The App will serve as the foundation of which other features and functionality can be implemented, adding “I am pleased to donate the App to this great institution, and I pray that it will help to accentuate the success of the University under you.”

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sunday Elom lauded Dr. Eli-Chukwu for her donation, noting that the App would enhance the smoothness of information and communication in the University, especially among staff and students, and other critical stakeholders. He also used the opportunity to call on good-spirited individuals and private investors to support his administration's drive to take the University to  greater heights.
