The Kwara state university also known as KWASU summer application forms are made available online for suitably qualified candidates for admission into the KWASU Summer-in-Nigeria programmes every academic session. This post is here to assist interested candidates on the procedure and steps required in the application process.
Introduction
KWASU Summer-in-Nigeria is a multidisciplinary program designed to give international (Nigerians and non-Nigerians) undergraduate and graduate students in different academic disciplines, knowledge of Nigerian history, culture and society during the summer period. The program, which will be in course work, workshops, seminars and practical academic and non-academic events, will expose participants to aspects of Nigerian culture and society and as well give them cultural enrichment and international experiences.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
- To expose participants to aspects of Nigerian history and Cultural Heritage.
- To train participants in community development programs.
- To give participants entrepreneurial training.
- To give qualitative summer education to participants in aspects of their field of study.
STUDENT BODY
The Summer program is specifically designed for international persons in any field of study. Such international persons must be:
- Undergraduate and graduate students studying abroad who are Nigerians.
- Undergraduate and graduate students studying abroad who are foreign nationals.
- College graduates who are based abroad and are Nigerians
- College graduates who are based abroad and are foreign nationals.

Higher Certificate in Arabic and Islamic Studies
DURATION OF THE PROGRAM
The 1-Summer Program shall run for one summer while the 4-Summer Programs shall run for four summers. A summer shall be for a period of eight weeks (i.e. between the month of June and August). There shall be course work, workshops, seminars and practical academic and non-academic events for six weeks and evaluation for two weeks.
Certificate of attendance and transcript detailing courses taken and scores obtained shall be issued at the end of the 1-Summer program for possible transfer to home universities.
In the case of the 4-Summer Program, Higher Certificate in Arabic and Islamic Studies and transcript detailing courses taken and scores obtained shall be issued at the end of the Program.
KWASU SUMMER PROGRAMME ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR 1-SUMMER
(a) A minimum of five credit passes at O’level SSCE/GCE/NECO or its equivalent including Mathematics and English Language at not more than two sittings in related subjects.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR 4-SUMMER PROGRAM
A minimum of five credit passes at O’level SSCE/GCE/NECO or its equivalent; and
(b) Walimatu ’l- Qur’an Certificate
VENUE OF THE PROGRAM
The KWASU Summer-in-Nigeria is a residential Program. Housing facilities will be provided on KWASU campus in Malete for students as well as parents who wish to accompany their children to the Program. Classes will hold on Malete campus.
EXTRA CURRICULA ACTIVITIES DURING THE SUMMER PROGRAM
- There will be opportunities for sports
- Seminars will be organized in each Summer
- There will be excursions to monumental places in Kwara State
- There will be a Talk-Show day with variety of activities such as Quiz competition, Debate, short speeches, poem rendition etc, and prizes will be given to outstanding participants.

Payments could be made either in dollars or in Naira. All payments from Naira Account should be made using the current official exchange rate.
KWASU SUMMER PROGRAMME ADMISSION FORM APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Application Fee: Application forms are now available for a fee of Fifty US Dollar Only ($50) ONLINE at http://myportal.kwasu.edu.ng/applicant/register. Please note that only Naira recognized payment cards are allowed.
ONLINE REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT INSTRUCTION
STEP 1: Visit http://myportal.kwasu.edu.ng/applicant/register, click “Create account” button.
STEP 2: Fill in the Application form, by entering your details
STEP 3: provide your Names
STEP 4: provide your phone number
STEP 5: provide your valid email address
STEP 6: Under Academic Program, select KWASU Summer in-Nigeria Program
STEP 7: Under “Mode of Entry”, select O’level or its equivalent
STEP 8: Under “Mode of Study”, select Short course
STEP 9: Under “Centre” select KWASU
STEP 10: Click Register
On the next page, click save and proceed to payment
On the “Application fee” page, Check and keep the payment details generated and click “Make Payment”
On the “ CONFIRM Application fee”, click ““Pay Now””
On the payment platform displayed, enter your card details and click the “Pay”
Once your payment is successful, you will be automatically directed to your registration page where you can complete other stages of registration.
After completing the registration stages, it is important to print your Registration form and Payment Receipt.
If you have successfully paid, and wish to continue your registration stages later, you should just login directly using the username and password sent to you via email and SMS to access your registration portal.
