Admission Requirements

The Postgraduate College establishes the minimum admission requirements common to all applicants. The postgraduate program that you are applying to may have additional requirements. All candidates must have five credit passes including English, Mathematics and two other relevant science subjects which must include Physics, Chemistry and Biology at ‘O’ Level. Please refer to specific programme for more information.

PGD in Biochemistry: Candidates with Bachelors degree from an approved university must obtain a minimum of third class B.Sc. or B.Tech. degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Botany, Environmental Science, Optometry or Microbiology.

Holders of HND in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Botany, Environmental Science, Optometry or Microbiology from approved institutions with a minimum of Upper Credit may also be considered for admission.

PGD in Computer Science: Candidates with Bachelors degree from an approved university must obtain a minimum of third class B.Sc. or B.Tech. degree in Computer Science or any science related courses.

M.Sc in Biochemistry: Candidates with Bachelor’s degree from Afe Babalola University must obtain a minimum of second class lower division with a CGPA of 3.0/5.0 or equivalent from any University approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Botany, Environmental Science, Optometry or Microbiology.

Candidates with at least a third class degree or HND in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Botany, Environmental Science, Optometry or Microbiology and university PGD with CGPA of 3.0/.5.0 or equivalent from any University approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC)may be considered for admission into academic Master’s degree programmes.

PGD in Microbiology:   Applicants for this programme should be holders of a B.Sc. or B. Tech. with at least a third class or HND/FINAL Diploma (AIST/AIMLT) (Lower credit) in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biology, and Environmental Science.

 M.Sc. in Microbiology:  Applicants for this programme should be holders of a first degree with a minimum pass of a second class lower division or PGD in Microbiology, Biology, Environmental Science, Zoology, Agricultural Science or  Nutrition/Food Science. Veterinary and Health professionals would be given consideration for Medical Microbiology option.

M.Sc. in Biology: Applicants for this programme should be holders of a first degree with a minimum pass of a second class lower division or PGD in Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology or Health Sciences.

M.Sc. in Computer Science: Applicants for this programme should be holders of a first degree with a minimum pass of a second class lower division or PGD in Computer Science or Computer Related Sciences courses.

COLLEGE OF SOCIAL AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

Admission Requirements

The Postgraduate College establishes the minimum admission requirements common to all applicants. The postgraduate program that you are applying to may have additional requirements. All candidates must have five credit passes including English, Mathematics and two other relevant Social Science subjects which must include Economics, Government and Financial Account, Commerce  at ‘O’ Level. PGD in Accounting: Candidates with Bachelors degree from an approved university must obtain a minimum of Third Class B.Sc. or B.Tech. Degree in Accounting or any other related course.

Holders of HND in Accounting or any other related course from approved institutions with a minimum of Upper Credit may also be considered for admission.

M.Sc in Accounting: Candidates with Bachelor’s degree from Afe Babalola University must obtain a minimum of second class lower division with a CGPA of 3.0/5.0 or equivalent from any University approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Accounting or any other related course.

Candidates with at least a third class degree or HND in Accounting or any other related course and university PGD with CGPA of 3.0/.5.0 or equivalent from any University approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) may be considered for admission into academic Master’s degree programmes.

M.Sc. in Banking and Finance: Applicants for this programme should be holders of a first degree with a Minimum Pass of a Second Class Lower Division or PGD in Banking and Finance or any other related course

PGD in Economics: Applicants for this programme should be holders of a B.Sc. or B. Tech. with at least a Third Class or HND (Upper Credit) in Economics or any other related course
