ABU releases security tips for students

Sequel to the deteriorating security situation in the country, the following are security tips for members of the University community:

1. By all means possible, avoid late-night outing

2. Avoid unguarded and carefree movement

3. Do not move alone during late hours or along lonely paths evenĀ  during day time

4. Familiarize yourself with your environment so you will be able to detect strange/unfamiliar happenings/persons in/around your area

5. Be prompt to report any strange/unfamiliar happenings/persons around your area. "If you see something, say something"

6. Let someone you trust know your whereabouts

7. Avoid using headphones, Airpods, earpiece while moving along the street in order to be fully conscious of your surroundings

8. Make decent use of social media and avoid being lured into evil/harm through the social media

9. Note that general movement on campus is restricted as from 12:00 midnight

10. Students studying in classes beyond the stated time shall remain till daybreak

11. Students are encouraged to give security personnel maximum cooperation
