The Senate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria has approved the schedule for the 2023/2024 resit examinations.
The Senate gave the approval at its 539th (Regular) meeting held on Thursday, 29th August, 2024.
It stated that the registration for the resit will start from Monday, 21st to Saturday 26th October; revision from Monday 21st to Saturday 2nd November; while the examinations will start from Monday 4th to Saturday 9th November.
The registration fee is N10,000 and charges per course by a student is N5,000.
It also fixed Monday 9th December, as the resumption date for First Semester 2024/2025 Academic Session.
The Senate further gave approval for the extension of the resit examination policy to all 300 level pre-clinical courses of College of Medical Sciences.
Equally, the Senate gave approval for the mounting of Master of Laws (LLM) programme in the Faculty of Law for the Nigerian Army School of Legal Studies (NASL), Zaria.
It also approved the revised admission requirements subject to the amendments made for various Undergraduate degree programmes arising from a University-wide revision exercise on ‘O’ level requirements, UTME subject combination, Direct Entry, Special Admission and Inter-Faculty transfer. It added that the approval takes effect from 2025/2026 academic session.
It gave approval for the nominations made to fill vacancies in the membership of the Senate Electoral Committee (SEC) to enable the Committee to discharge its responsibility.
It also noted with appreciation members’ contribution to the University Endowment Fund and urged those yet to respond to do so.
The Senate congratulated 22 staff members promoted to the ranks of Professor and 26 others to the rank of Reader/Principal Research Fellow/Deputy University Librarian, following the receipt of two or more positive external assessor’s report.
It congratulated the Faculty adviser and members of the Entrepreneurial Action Us (ENACTUS) team for winning the 2nd position in the 2024 National Competition based on inventions for water purifications, body cream, insect repellant and poultry feed.
