Abia state university students under the aegis of Abia Joint Students Leaders have appealed to the state government to reconsider its decision on the payment of N30,000 stipends to indigene students of the institution.
The students made the appeal in a statement made available to ABN TV, while also calling on the state government to consider the inclusion of students of other tertiary institutions in the state in their welfare packages.
According to the students, the proposed N30,000 stipends should rather be converted to their fees and deducted from their tuition, adding that it would be more impactful to them.
