Further to the 41st Matriculation Ceremony of Abia State University, for the 2022/2023 academic session, scheduled for Friday, 25th August, 2023, at the University Pavilion, at 11.00a.m, please note the following:
1.STUDENTS EXPECTED TO MATRICULATE
a) Postgraduate students, who are not graduates of Abia State University:
b) All first year undergraduate students of the Institute for continuing Education (ICE);
c) Other duly admitted and cleared students who, for good reasons, could not matriculate in their year of admission
d) Those who have accepted their offer-of-admission, paid their fees and registered their courses.
2. PROCEDURE FOR HIRING OF MATRICULATION REGALIA AND PURCHASE OF MATRICULATION BROCHURE BY MATRICULANTS
a) The hiring cost of the Matriculation regalia (gown and cap only) and Brochure is fifteen thousand Naira (N15,000.00) only.
Matriculating students should pay at the following designated Banks ABSU Micro-Finance Bank, Uturu; EcoBank Plc; Fidelity Bank Plc; Union Bank Plc: Zenith Bank Plc; UBA Plc and payment via bank debit cards. On no account should payment be made in cash to anybody. Payment begins immediately;
b) Matriculating Students should present their payment receipts and collect their regalia College/School/Institute Secretaries and Faculty Officers;and brochure from the
c) College/School/Institute Secretaries and Faculty Officers should collect appropriate regalia from the University Central Store, according to the number of their matriculating students. They should also collect the same number of Matriculation Brochures from the office of the Registrar. Issuance of these items to the Students begins on Wednesday, 23rd August, 2023;
d) All hired regalia must be returned to the point of collection not later than Tuesday, 29th August, 2023. The penalty for late return of a set of regalia is one thousand Naira (1,000) per day after the deadline.
3. REPLACEMENT CHARGE
A replacement charge of twenty thousand Naira (20,000.00) will be paid for the loss of, or damage to, any academic regalia. All the relevant Offices should ensure that students receive adequate attention.
