ABSU changes 2024 screening exercise from aptitude test to O'level grading system

In view of prevailing circumstances, Senate of Abia State University, at its 273rd Regular meeting, approved the use of UTME score and O'level or Degree results for online screening of candidates in the 2024/2025 Admissions Exercise. 

The University therefore, informs prospective candidates, their parents, guardians and the public that the earlier advertised Post-UTME screening exercise scheduled to commence from 4th to 6th September, 2024 will no longer hold. 

Candidates who have already registered for the 2024/2025 Post-UTME screening exercise are advised to ensure that their O'level or Degree results are uploaded on the JAMB portal, as appropriate. 

The University has therefore, given two (2) weeks extension for registration for the screening exercise. Candidates who are yet to register are advised to avail themselves of this opportunity to do so on or before Friday, 20th September, 2024.

Candidates Qualified for the Screening Exercise;

✓ Candidates who chose Abia State University as their 1 Choice, 2nd Choice and those who did not choose the University at all in the UTME, but want to change to Abia State University;

✓Candidates who scored 140 and above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME):

✓Candidates who possess the basic five O'Level credit passes in accordance with the University entry requirements and should upload same at the JAMB portal:

✓All Direct Entry Candidates.

Procedure for Registration for the Screening Exercise (a) Candidates are expected to register for the screening exercise online by logging into www.abiastateuniversity.edu.ng and making e- payment of two thousand Naira (N2,000.00) only, in any of the following Banks:

ABSU Micro-Finance Bank, Uturu

✓ Eco Bank Plc

✓ Zenith Bank Plc

✓ Fidelity Bank Plc

✓ Union Bank Plc

✓UBA Plc

✔ Payment via bank debit cards

(b) Candidates who do not register for the Post-UTME screening exercise will not be considered for admission.
