Abia State School Teachers Troop out En-masse for COVID-19 Test Ahead of Schools Resumption

Abia State primary and secondary school teachers went out in large numbers to the COVID-19 sample collection centers across the state to test for the virus, following the state government's announcement that primary and secondary schools in the state will resume academic activities on Monday August 10, 2020.

This comes after the Abia State Government announced that the State Ministry of Health, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, will on 4th August, 2020 commence sample collection and testing for COVID-19 of all head teachers, teachers and all those expected to be part of the management of the relevant examinations in the state's public and private schools. Only those who test negative to the virus will be expected to continue attending classes or interacting with students and the management of the examinations.
