The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria, Professor Francis Oyebade, on Wednesday last week, said AAUA is potentially the best University in Africa given the volume of passion for excellence present in its stakeholders.
Professor Oyebade, who is the Chairman of the University’s Advancement Office and Director of Diaspora Institute Office, expressed this optimism while interacting with the Information Unit of the University in his office last week.
He said, “Adekunle Ajasin University is potentially the best University in Africa in the next 10 years because of the volume of passion and hunger of excellence that is present in its stakeholders. I would not be surprised if the University emerges as the best in Africa in the next 10 years.”
Professor Oyebade also shed light on the mandate of the newly-established Diaspora Institute Office and the efforts the office is making to fulfil the given charge.

“Diaspora Institute’s mandate is accommodated in the University’s Advancement Office. It is part of the assignments of the University Advancement Office, which is to institute international linkages. It is to link up African Universities with the diaspora. There are so many academics out there with passion to give back to African Universities.
“The whole essence of this is to provide a funnel through which they can deliver, and AAUA is fortunate enough to be among the first set of beneficiaries with the coming of the President of the Diaspora Institute, Professor Byron Price, who is presently midwifing a memorandum of Understanding between our University and the City University, New York, USA.”
The Deputy Vice Chancellor, who also spoke on the nature of his office, described the mandate of his office as exciting, noting that it affords one the opportunity to impact lives positively.
The DVC said, “I would not describe the office as challenging more than as being exciting. It is exciting because it gives windows of opportunities to affect people’s lives. For one who is hungry to impact on lives positively, the office affords such a person ample opportunity to do.”
