The Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma Has announced application into its foundation programmes for the 2014/2015 academic session
The Directorate of Foundation runs a two semester programme aimed at preparing candidates who could not gain admission into the University through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), but possess the minimum entry requirements, for admission into 100 Level in their respective courses.
The available degree options currently offered through the programme and with the entry requirements are as stated below:
1. FOUNDATION PROGRAMME IN AGRICULTURE:
The Foundation Programme in Agriculture prepares candidates for entry into any of the following degree options. Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, Crop Science and Soil Science.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must possess at least, five (5) credit passes in the WASC/GCE O’ Level/SSCE/NECO or NABTEB in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Agricultural Science or Biology at not more than two sittings. A pass in Physics is acceptable for candidates with credit in Chemistry.
2. FOUNDATION PROGRAMME IN NATURAL SCIENCES
The Foundation Programme in the Science prepares candidates for entry into any of the following degree options: Biochemistry, Botany, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Microbiology and Zoology.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must possess at least, five (5) credits including a credit in English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings in the WASC/GCE O’ Level/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB provided that at least three (3) of the credits are in relevant Science subjects. A credit pass in Physics may not be mandatory for Departments of Botany, Zoology and Statistics.
3. FOUNDATION PROGRAMME BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCES
The programme prepares candidates for entry into the following degree options: Medical Laboratory Sciences and Physiology.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Same as for Natural Sciences in (2) above.
4. FOUNDATION PROGRAMME IN SCIENCE EDUCATION
The Foundation Programme in Science Education prepares candidates for entry into any of the following degree option: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Five credits at SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB or its equivalent at not more than two (2) sittings. Requirements vary with subject areas as shown below:
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
i. Biology Education: Candidates must possess credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Biology in addition to two other subjects.
ii. Chemistry Education: Candidates must possess credit passes credit English Language, Mathematics and Chemistry in addition to two other subjects.
iii. Mathematics Education: Candidates must possess credit pass credit English Language, Mathematics any other science subjects in addition to two other subjects.
iv. Physics Education: Candidates must possess credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Physics in addition to two other subjects.
5. FOUNDATION PROGRAMME IN ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
The Foundation Programme in Environmental Studies prepares candidates for entry into any of the following degree options: Building, Fine & Applied Arts.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
i. BUILDING: Applicants must possess at least, five credit passes in WAEC/GCE O’ Level/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB in Mathematics, English Language, Physics and any other two (2) subjects from Geography, Economics, Arts, Technical Drawing, Biology and Agricultural Science.
ii. FINE ANDAPPLIED ARTS: Applicants must possess at least, five credit passes including English Language in WASC/GCE O’ Level/SSCE/NECO or NABTEB. A credit or pass in Fine and Applied Arts is an additional advantage. Candidates having TC II with at least a merit grade in Fine and Applied Arts may also apply.
6. FOUNDATION PROGRAMME IN SOCIAL SCIENCES
GEOGRAPHY AND REGIONAL PLANNING: Applicants must possess at least, five credit passes in the WASC/GCE O’ Level/SSCE/NECO or NABTEB in English Language, Geography and Mathematics and any other two (2) subjects.
7. FOUNDATION PROGRAMME IN ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY
The Foundation Programme in Engineering and Technology prepares candidates for entry into any of the following degree options:
i. Civil Engineering
ii. Electrical/Electronics Engineering
iii. Materials and Production Engineering
iv. Mechanical Engineering
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must obtain a minimum of five (5) credit passes in the WASC/GCE O' Level/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB in not more than two sittings, including credit passes in Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, English Language and any other subject.
8. FOUNDATION PROGRAMME IN FRENCH
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/WASC/GCE O' Level/NECO or NABTEB or equivalent, English Language and four (4) other subjects at not more than (2) sittings.
9. FOUNDATION PROGRAMME IN ENGLISH
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must possess at least five (5) O’ Level credits including English Language and Literature in English, in not more than two (2) sittings.
10. EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION AND MANAGEMENT
The options available are:
i. B.A. (Ed) English
ii. B.A. (Ed) French
iii. B.Sc. (Ed) Geography
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The same as required for B.A. English, French and B.Sc Geography and Regional Planning.
11. FOUNDATION PROGRAMME IN VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION
1. Business Education with options in:
a. B.Sc (Ed) Accounting
b. B.Sc (Ed) Agriculture
c. B.Sc (Ed) Home Economics
d. B.Sc (Ed) Secretarial Studies
e. B.T (Ed) Technical
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
A. Accounting Education
A candidate must possess at least five (5) credit passes in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), or NECO, NABTEB or Teacher’s Grade II or its equivalent certificate recognized by Senate of Ambrose Alli University in not more than two sittings. The credit passes must include Mathematics, English Language, Economics or Commerce and two other subjects.
B. Agricultural Science
A candidate must possess at least five (5) credit passes in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), or NECO, NABTEB or Teacher’s Grade II or its equivalent certificate recognized by Senate of Ambrose Alli University in not more than two sittings. The credit passes must include Mathematics, English Language, Agricultural Science or Biology. A credit in Chemistry or Physics is an advantage.
C. Secretarial Education
A candidate must possess at least five (5) credit passes in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), or NECO, NABTEB or Teacher’s Grade II or its equivalent certificate recognized by Senate of Ambrose Alli University in not more than two sittings. The credit passes must include Mathematics, English Language, Economics or Commerce.
D. Technical Education and Home Economics
i.
i. A candidate must possess at least five (5) credit passes in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), or NECO, NABTEB or Teacher’s Grade II or its equivalent certificate recognized by Senate of Ambrose Alli University in not more than two (2) sittings. The credit passes must include Mathematics, English Language, Physics or Chemistry, plus any two of the following subjects, Fine Arts, Biology, Agricultural Science, Applied Electricity, Basic Electronics, Woodwork, Building Construction, Block laying and Concreting, Metal Works, Automobile, Technical Drawing, etc.
ii. Teacher’s Grade II Certificate with Credit/Merit passes in at least five subjects including English Language, Mathematics and General or Basic Science plus two of the above named subjects.
iii. City and Guilds Certificate at intermediate level with passes at first written and credit at second written in practical Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Concrete practice, Carpentry and Joinery, Furniture Craft, Building Construction, e.t.c plus Federal Craft Certificate with at least a ‘C’ grade in five subjects which must include English Language, Mathematics and Basic Science.
iv. National Technical Certificate (NTC) with credit passes in five subjects in not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.
v. Candidates for the programme must have Senior Secondary School Certificates (SSCE), NECO, NABTEB, GCE or other equivalent minimum of five (5) subjects passed at credit level at not more than two (2) sittings. The subjects must include English Language, Biology or any other science subject, plus at least a pass in Mathematics. TC II with relevant qualifications will also be considered for admission.
12. PHYSICAL AND HEALTH EDUCATION
ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
Candidates seeking admission into the department must pass at least five subjects at credit level at not more than two sittings in any of the following WASC/SSCE/NECO/TC II/NABTEB. Passes must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Agric Science, Health Science, or Physical and Health Education. Credit pass in Physical and Health Education will be an added advantage. A pass in mathematics may be accepted.
DURATION OF PROGRAMME
One (1) Academic Session.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Applicants are required to pay for the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma Foundation Programme online application Form at a fee of N16,250.00 (Sixteen thousand, two hundred and fifty naira only) using their ATM debit cards on Interswitch or purchase on eTranzact PIN (Payment Voucher) from any of the under-listed banks Nationwide.

Candidates may be required to sit for a written examination on a date to be announced later.

i. Parents, Sponsors and Candidates are advised to purchase their forms personally, as cases of fraudulent practices in the admission process will not be entertained.
ii. The Form’s serial number would serve as examination number, where necessary.
