A minor fire which reportedly began in the basement of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) main library on Thursday left students panicking and scampering for safety out of the three storey building.
Reports stated that the fire started in the basement of the library as a mild explosion was heard at repeated intervals forcing the library staffs to sound the jingle bell.
According to a student who spoke to newsmen, he said he was reading in the library in preparation for a test when he heard a voice shouting that everybody should leave now, he added that before he knew it, students were already running out of the library while some stayed back to know what was happening.
Reports also gathered that the cause of the fire was as a result of electrical circuit failure and also no life was lost.
