600,000 Applicants Already Registered for JAMB’s Computer-Based Test:

A total of 600,000 applicants have so far registered for JAMB’s newly introduced Computer Based Test (CBT) for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) 2014.

Mr Anthony Eneji, an Assistant Director of JAMB, said this in Jalingo on Thursday at a sensitization programme on the test.

He said the programme was due to the plan by JAMB to phase out the Paper and Pencil Test in the UTME by 2015.

Eneji said one does not have to be a computer guru before taking the CBT.

“A little knowledge of computer is all that is needed for the CBT process. I believe most of you, if not all, can use GSM phones.

“There is no much difference with that; only that you need to know how to use the computer mouse”, he said.

Eneji said the CBT automatically addresses the problems of improper shading, general examination cancellation and delay in receiving results, among others.

He urged the 100 students the agency used as a sample for the training on the CBT to ensure that they stepped down what they learned to their friends back home. (NAN)
