3,552 Oyo teachers trained ahead of schools resumption

The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, (OyoSUBEB) has revealed that a total of 3,552 teachers have been trained in a week-long exercise ahead of schools resumption in the state.

The Executive Chairman of the board Dr Nureni Adeniran said this on Monday, January 11 in Ibadan the state capital, stating that the training was conducted by the board in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission.

The training which was conducted under the Oyo SUBEB’s Teachers’ Professional Development Programme, commenced on Jan. 4, and it is geared towards building teachers’ capacity and efficiency.

While speaking to newsmen, Adeniran reemphasized the government’s commitment to creating the needed enablement for pupils and teachers to enhance their academic excellence. He also revealed that they were plans underway to rehabilitate dilapidated school buildings and to add more infrastructures.
