30 Students Of Kaduna State Origin To Study in The Islamic University of Uganda

About thirty students from Kaduna State are to benefit from the state scholarships scheme and undertake studies in Islamic University of Uganda.

The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Honourable Aminu Abdullahi Shagali disclosed this during a Press briefing after a courtesy call by the Ugandan High Commission to Nigeria, Mr Ocheger Nelson in his office in Kaduna.

He said the High Commissioner has assured the people of the state that security of students in Uganda is highly guaranteed.

Earlier in his speech the High Commissioner affirmed that the Islamic University is not only admitting Muslim students but from both religious backgrounds.
He said that among the 30 students to be sent to the Islamic University, ten are Muslims while twenty are Christians.

Mr Ocheger said that about 750 Nigerians are studying in one Ugandan University alone, maintaining that this will encourage interaction among different social and religious backgrounds and different nationals that will bring about social harmony and exchange of ideas.
