A 300 level student of of Jigawa State College of Islamic and Legal Studies identified as Ringim Ismail has allegedly killed his girlfriend for refusing to terminate a pregnancy she had for him.
It was gathered that Ismail has dated the deceased for over eight years with a view to settling down as married couple in the nearest future.
It was unfortunate that the 22- year-old boy impregnated his girlfriend ,Salamatu Garba in the long run.
The suspect reportedly said when the pregnancy was three-month-old they made attempt to eliminate the pregnancy but it was unsuccessful. Two months later, Ismail decided to give it another try, but this time Salamatu refused.
So he decided to get rid of her and the pregnancy. He allegedly rode the Salamatu in his motorcycle to the outskirt of the town at 9 p.m and slit her throat with a jack-knife he borrowed from a friend.
The Police spokesperson accused the suspect of the alleged murder and said he will be charged to court.
