2025 Chidera Anushiem Essay Competition

In commemoration of this year’s International Day of the Boy-child (IDBC 2025), Boys Without Borders Nigeria presents the second edition of the Chidera Anushiem Essay Competition.

This essay competition is open to all male undergraduate students of any Nigerian university and is made possible by the generosity of Mr. Chidera Anushiem.

The timeline for the submission of entries is March 3rd, 2025 – March 31st, 2025.

The Modalities of the Essay Competition

The essay topic for the 2025 Chidera Anushiem Essay Competition is: Challenging harmful stereotypes: Becoming allies in the fight for equality.

The prizes to be won are N70,000, N50,000, and N30,000 for the first, second and third positions respectively. In addition, the top 10 entrants would get access to mentorship opportunities and other worthy prizes.

Guidelines

1. Entrants must be undergraduate students of a higher institution in Nigeria.

2. Entrants must be male.

3. Entrants must submit a photo of their ID card with their entries. In case they do not have an ID card, they may submit a substitute that carries their name, photo and the name of their school.

4. The essay must not be more than 800 – 1000 words.

5. The deadline for submission is March 31st, 2025.

6. Essay documents must not contain the NAME of the entrant and their SCHOOL NAME. It should be filled out in the form.

7. The document should contain the title and word count.

8. Submissions with plagiarised content will not be graded.

9. The only accepted mode of submission is through this link (https://bit.ly/2025ChideraAnushiemEssayCompetition).

10. After grading, the top ten essays will be shortlisted and writers invited to attend the conference.

11. The top three winners will be selected for the monetary prizes.

12. The top five will receive consolation prizes.

N.B: This essay competition is not open to members of Boys Without Borders NG and Boys Without Borders’ campus networks.
