JAMB Registrar Professor Oloyede during interaction with news men in view of the 2017 JAMB exam which is expected to commence on May 13th, 2017 revealed as follows;
Total Number Of Registered JAMB Candidates For 2017 UTME
According to Prof Oloyede, the number of registered JAMB candidates for 2017 UTME is one Million, Seven Hundred and Thirty-Six Thousand, Five Hundred and Seventy one (1,736,571). This is the highest number of registered candidates in the History of JAMB.
Top 10 States With The Highest Number Of Registered JAMB Candidates
The top ten states with the highest number of JAMB registered candidates for 2017 UTME are as follows;
101,868 – Imo State (Highest Number)
88,655 – Osun State
87,811 – Oyo State
81,349 – Ogun State
81,108 – Delta State
77,253 – Anambra State
72,104 – Kaduna State
70,276 – Kano State
70,150 – Kogi State
68,916 – Benue State
Prof Oloyede equally disclosed that the official cut -off mark will be decided after the 2017 JAMB results have been released.
The 2017 cut off mark will be set by the Policy committee which comprises of Vice-Chancellors, Rectors and Provosts and chaired by the Minister of education.
He described cut-off points to be a minimum requirement and not an indication that one was admissible.
